Recent reports in the media make us believe that the concept of multiculturalism doesnt work. Furthermore if we remember the case of Kosovo or the genoicide in Ruanda, it seems that multicultural, multiethnic and tolerant environments have failed. These attidutes manifests now in the call for a "Leitkultur" in Germany by certain politics and journalists. They want to establish certain sets of cultural practices as dominant over others. Those ideas are dangerous cause they can be used to lead to the exclusion of minorities (in Germany for example there are calls for the "Einreiseverbot von imanen" who come from arabian countries). Anyone whos interested in the roots of those ideologies should read Boksovic article who traces them back to the 15th century.
