E-LAB claims to provide “archival and computer facilities for students and faculty who work with nonlinear editing systems and interactive media in anthropology. The primary mission of the Ethnographics Lab is to promote the integration of all forms of information, whether text, graphics of time-based media, into a new synthesis of anthropological knowledge. It provides support for research and representation in multimedia formats carried out in a new laboratory facility based on computer AV technologies and software.” But the output of the E-LAB remains poor - as far as online presentations are concerned. Only one E-LAB project (on Malawi and India) can be visited today. The early date of publication – in the nineties – might be an excuse for its rather basic structure. ... Comment

Thank you for that link! The Ethnographics Laboratory was founded by Gary Seaman, who is well known as a very early adopter of hypermedia for anthropology. He wrote the first articles in that topic 1992! Just think, that at this time there existed no WWW! Sadly, the page has'nt been updated in this century. ... Link
