BTW, I just did notice the text around the indian in the part of the map pictures above. It says "Caudati homines hic". "The here living tailed humans". This was part oft the fabolous picture the europeans had from the indians. Ethnographer Gusinde meant, the idea of tailed humans could possible be provoked by the traditional fur clothing (Gusinde, Feuerlandindianer Band 1, S. 41). ... Link ... Comment |
