Nils B. Weidmann, Computer Scientist and PhD student at the "International Conflict Research Group" at the ETH in Zurich, together with Doreen Kuse from the Institute of Cartography at the TU Dresden have built data sets visualizing conflicts in present and past. The aim of the project is to help find correlations between conflicts, ethnicity and ressource distribution, both natural and man made. The visualization come "in two flavours", as they point out: One static browser version and a dynamic Google Earth add-on, as .kml-file.
