Social anthropology studentship at Kent The Cultural Ecology of Language Loss

This PhD project is part of a larger project to study endangered languages. The student will study the broad cultural factors that mitigate for and against linguistic survival in the Cameroon / Nigerian borderlands where the project is focused.

We expect to appoint a student who has recently completed a Masters. No prior experience of research in Africa is necessary.

Applications (including the receipt of references) must be received by 10 April 2006; interviews will be held week beginning 22 May 2006.
