Improving graduate education by allowing students to produce electronic documents, use digital libraries, and understand issues in publishing is one of the main objectives of the Electronic Theses and Dissertations movement that will held its sixth international conference next week in Berlin, Germany. Organised by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) ETD2003, to be held from 21 to 24 May 2003 at Humboldt University in Berlin is cosponsored by UNESCO within the framework of its efforts to internationalize methods and techniques for the electronic production and publication of doctoral theses and dissertations. I published my own thesis the traditional way, now. I felt like a traitor to my lifestyle. But after all this work, it's gotta be paper.

By accident I found today a list of chilean doctoral theses. It seems that in germany we are far behind. We have no central german site for theses yet!

Yeah. I feel that we need that. It's not only interesting to know what the others are working on, it's also essential that your work wouldn't go in the same direction than other projects. I want a central repository.
